For Cancer Lagna, Saturn is the Kalathra Sthanathipathi and Ashtamathipathi (7^th and 8^th house lord).

Saturn by being in the 4^th house (in exaltation) and in the
7^th house (ruling status), gives Sasa Yoga effects to Cancer Lagna.

Generally, Ashtamathipathi getting exaltation is not good for any Lagna.

That too Saturn here occupies the Suka Sthana (4^th house), thereby giving a long life but other than that gives many disturbances in other good benefits of the 4^th house.

The fourth house Saturn affects a person’s house, vehicle, education, and mother.

The native will find it hard to be a first rank student or some hindrance in his education. Owning a house is very difficult for him.

The native may lose any ancestral house during Saturn’s Dasa period, and Saturn will make him be in a rental house.

This bad effect will change only if Saturn has Sukshuma strength or benefic planet’s connection.

For cancer Lagna, Saturn is the 7^th lord.

Here 7^th lord in exaltation does not ensure an understandable spouse or good friends, since it is a malefic Saturn.

Generally, any planet that holds two Athipathya, during its Dasa period, does the Karakathvas of its Mool Trikona house, accordingly, Saturn here does the Ashtamathipathi effects mostly.  

Sun and Moon are constant opponents of Saturn.

Hence Saturn gives good benefits in certain crucial conditions only.

(My Guru, ‘Jothida Banu’ ‘Athirshtam’ (late) C.Subramaniam Ayya, the editor of Bala Jothidam, of his long experience, repeatedly mentions, that if Moon Dasa and Janma Shani join together, the native will experience all bad effects for sure.)

For Cancer Lagna Saturn to give good effects, it should get the aspect of Jupiter.

For this, Jupiter should be in Cancer’s 8^th house or the 12^th house then only it can see Cancer’s 4^th house Saturn.

Here also because of Jupiter’s malefic placement, the good effects are less.

Another benefic planet Venus’s connection to Saturn will reduce the malefic effect to a meagre level only since Venus is the Bathakathipathi for Cancer Lagna.

Lagna lord Moon can be in the 10^th house, and if it is a waxing Moon, then it is good to see Saturn so that the malefic effect may get reduced.

Again here also, already the exalted Saturn sees the Lagna and with its aspect weakens the Lagna.

Further seeing Lagna lord with the 7^th aspect will further weaken both Lagna and Lagna lord.

In case there is any other Yoga in the chart, the Yoga benefits may not be available since both Lagna and Lagna lord are affected or weakened by exalted Saturn. Hence this is also not a good one.

Here if this exalted Saturn to give good benefits to cancer Lagna then the only way is Saturn should be in retro. Then only Saturn’s virulence will get reduced and good effects can be expected.

Now a question arises…. if Saturn is weakened, will that not affect the lifespan?

Saturn is the planet of Ayush Karakathva, but Lifespan is not about Saturn alone.

It is based on Lagna lord and Ashtamathipathi also.

Saturn from here with its 3, 7, and 10^th aspects sees the 6^th, 10^th house and Lagna bhava.

Saturn’s gaze on the 6^th house is a good one.

Powerful Ashtamathipathi seeing the 6^th house will weaken the virulence of the 6^th house.

Accordingly, the native will benefit from loan and debt-related issues, or forever he will be financially comfortable and may not require any loan, he will have a good lifespan, and he will be free from opponents and enemies. 

Saturn’s aspect to Jeevana Sthana will give him an unsteady job or profession, frequent change of job, a job in the mechanical line, or Saturn’s Karakathva jobs.

Powerful Saturn’s aspect to Lagna will give some unnecessary bad qualities.

He will be adamant, stubborn, and rigid and he will have some peculiar character.

If Saturn gets Sukshuma strength, or if any powerful benefic aspect to Lagna then these effects will change positively.

7^th house Saturn’s Sasa Yoga effect gives delayed marriage, an unmatched and unlovable spouse.

This Saturn gives either disinterest in marital pleasure or immoral sexual relations.

The ‘7^th lord in the 7^th house is good’ rule doesn’t apply to Saturn.

It should be seen as Dik Bala, powerful Ashtamathipathi is aspecting Lagna.

For any Lagna, if Saturn is powerful in the 7^th house, that gives an infatuation with a person with a huge age difference. Sometimes, the native may not get married at all. If Saturn gets Sukshuma strength then these bad effects will be reversed.

This Saturn sees the 9^th house, Lagna, and the 4^th house.

Saturn’s powerful aspect will collapse and weaken 9^th - Father, Lagna- the native, and 4^th – Mother.  

For Sun, Moon, and Mars Lagnas, 7^th house Saturn will be in the ruling, exaltation, and Dik Bala position.

This affects the mother, father, and the native. So only Saturn is considered a cruel inimical planet to these Lagnas.

The effects of a powerful Saturn’s aspect on Lagna are already explained above.

Simma:

The 6^th and 7^th house lord Saturn gets ruling, Mool Trikona in the 7^th house, and also Dik Bala thereby giving Sasa Yoga effects to Leo Lagna.

For Cancer Lagna – Saturn gets only ruling status in the 7^th house, but for Leo – Saturn additionally gets Mool Trikona state also, hence it is more powerful.

For Cancer – Saturn is the Ashtamathipathi in the 7^th house.

Similarly for Leo – Saturn is the 6^th lord and getting strengthened in the 7^th house.

It should also be seen as the 6^th lord sitting and thereby spoiling the 7^th house.

This powerful Saturn will cause delayed marriage, denial of marriage, disinterest in marital life, unmatched life partner, and inter-caste marriage.

Saturn in the 7^th house without the Sukshuma effect or any benefic connection will make the native if males- are interested in elderly ladies and if females – will indulge in immoral sexual contacts.

Besides, the natives will not have true friends or partners.

Saturn is also the 6^th lord; hence this 7^th house powerful Saturn will give disinterest in marital pleasures or some cases give interest in extramarital affairs.

If Venus is debilitated or weakened, the native will not have an interest in sex. 

Powerful Saturn in the 7^th house with its 3^rd, 7^th, and 10^th aspects sees 9^th house, Lagna, and 4^th house.

Saturn’s aspect to the 9^th house will make the native deprive of his father’s affection, and support.

If Sun and Mars are in a weaker position, the native will not have a smooth relationship with his father.

This will force the native to be away from his father or losing father at an early age.

Saturn’s aspect to Lagna gives the native rigidity and adamant.

He will be selfish.

His actions are secretive and others cannot predict his actions.

He becomes hypocritical and introverted or tacit in his ideas.  

If multiple planets see the Lagna, then we cannot confine to one planet’s Karakathva to say his behaviour.

We should see the strongest planet in this bunch, its placement house’s nature, the Karakathvas of that planet, etc.,

Should be seen from all angles and then only the character and qualities of the person can be guessed.

I prefer to mention a valid point here: Powerful Saturn in Kumbha with its 3^rd and 10^th aspects, sees Mars’ houses Aries and Scorpio and weakens these houses.

One way it is good for Gemini and Virgo Lagnas since their
6^th house and 8^th house lose their virulence. (Mithuna - 6^th house, Virgo - 8^th house) 

But for Leo, Saturn is a cruel inimical planet, hence its powerful Mool Trikona and Dik Bala status is not good for Leo.

Saturn’s aspects of Leo’s 4^th and 9^th houses have negative and bad effects on Leo’s people.

Generally, the vital portion of a chart is Lagna, 4^th house (Kendra), and 9^th house (Trikona).

Powerful Saturn from the 7^th house sees all these 3 houses and weakens them.

That’s why Saturn is considered a cruel malefic to the Sun.
