Most commonly, in layman's language yoga refers to fortunes.
Is your horoscope a Yoga one?
Generally, Yoga means union,
Yoga means the conjunction of the planets in a certain
position.
The planets that are destined to have good effects on a person, should be combined in a benefic bhava, or with the mutual aspects, or in their mutual stars, and thus during their Dasa period give all good benefits to the natives.
Jyothish Sastra asserts the good or bad effects on a person are purely based on his previous life’s karma.
An in-depth analysis will bring out a minimum of 10 good Yogas in every horoscope.
To be honest many
are in hectic confusion, then why the Yogas are not activated?
When will the
Yogas be activated? whether
that will give any benefit or not.
How or why only one in a lakh is blessed to be fortunate?
and how the good Yoga
in his horoscope is always active.
Many clients do ask me routinely like, in my birth chart, Jupiter is in exaltation or Mercury is in exaltation but why did I suffer severely during its Dasa period?
Even if planets are powerful in a chart if they tend to have bad effects on the natives, then how these planets should be positioned in a Yoga Jataka?
Which planet
should be strengthened? And which should be weakened?
What does Jyothish Sastra say about this?
*In any chart, all planets should not be equally powerful.
In Navagraha,
the native’ Lagna lord and the 3 other friendly planets of the Lagna lord
should be positioned well and the rest of the planets should be powerless.
In lord Rama’s birth chart, 4 planets are in exaltation thereby even now he is worshiped as a god by us,
but in point of fact, he never lived a peaceful human life.
At a young age, he
threw away his palace life and lived in the forest for 14 years.
He happened to
separate his lovable affectionate wife to avoid a blemish.
He could not
shower his affection on his children.
More than this, he identified his children only when they stood in front of him on the war front.
This is the end-result of the planets.

The Jyothish Sastras, divide the planets into two
groups, one is led by the Deva Guru Jupiter, and the other one is steered by
the Asura Guru Venus.
Jupiter, Sun, Moon, Mars, and Ketu are in one group and the rest are in the other group.
Both groups are opposite in nature.
Sun is the prime planet as per our Vedic astrology.
Hence Sun takes a common position and acts like a bridge between both
groups.
*If the Lagna lord is in Jupiter’s group then Venus and its group planets do not give their full and perfect yoga benefits.
In the same way, if the Lagna lord is in the
Venus group then Jupiter and its friendly planets do not give their fullest
benefits.
In other words, for any Lagna, only their friendly planets give their good benefits and other planets' Yogas become vain.
To be precise, for Taurus, Gemini, Virgo, Libra, Capricorn, Aquarius Lagna, the Yogas related to the Sun, Moon, Mars, and Jupiter will not be fruitful. That will be Avayoga.
Likewise, Aries, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius,
and Pisces Lagna will not get the full yoga benefits of Venus, Saturn, and
Mercury.
To elaborate further, for the Jupiter group Lagna people, if Venus, Saturn, and Mercury are powerful in Kendra or Trikona house, that will not give good benefits. Instead, if they are in Upachaya sthana 3,6,10,11 houses, in friendly positions then they will give good benefits.
In the same way, for the Venus group’ Lagna people, in their birth chart, if Jupiter group planets are strengthened in Kendra or Trikona houses then these planets Jupiter, Mars, Sun, and Moon do not give their full benefits to the natives.
Instead, if they are positioned in Upachaya Sthana
3,6,10,11 houses and a friendly position will give good benefits to the
natives.
Vedic astrology is an ocean. There are many exemptions to the above-said rules. These exemptions can be explained based on every individual Lagna.
Nevertheless, Athipathya-wise, that is as per the bhava, even if a planet is NOT destined to give good benefits to the natives, that planet will surely give its Karakathvas to them.
For example, Venus does not give good benefits to the Jupiter group Lagna natives, yet, Venus’ basic Karakathvas like house, vehicle, wife, female pleasure, and luxury are not denied to the natives, and as per their age, they surely get these benefits.
Astrology is based on subtle calculations that need adroit intelligence: it is a scientific chronology and needs more talent in prediction. A person with less knowledge in calculation cannot predict what a planet does and when does it do?
*The friendly planets conjunctions and Yogas only help a person to come up in life.
The inimical planets do not give their full Yoga
benefits, even if they are in Yoga positions.
The inimical planets normally spoil one bhava effect
and then give another good effect. But the friendly planets are not like this
and they give their full good benefits entirely.
*Another important rule is only friendly planets should be positioned in Lagna benefic houses. And the inimical planets should not be in these houses since they suppress or mask the good benefits.
For example, when your friend comes to your home, your family members celebrate his visit.
In some unavoidable situations, if your enemy comes to
your home, then imagine your family’s reaction.
In the same way the planets…!
*If a planet is destined to give its good benefits, when in its friendly house and combined with its friendly planets, that planet gives enormous good benefits to the natives.
But if the same planet is in an inimical house
and surrounded by its inimical planets, though it is destined to give good
benefits, that planet is unable to perform beneficially.
Here I need to emphasize one point:
*For the Lagna lord (that is the native) if the friendly planets are in the weaker position, still, during their Dhasa periods, they do not give malefic effects as other inimical planets.
In other words, though amiable planets are not
useful to the natives, they certainly do not have bad effects.
There are hundreds of Yoga benefits being delineated in our Jyothish Sastras.
Excluding the luminaries Sun and Moon, other Pancha BHOOThA planets Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, Mars, and Saturn’ Yoga benefits are elucidated on a greater scale as Pancha Maha Purusha Yoga in all Jyothish treatises and dissertations.
In the same way, when the ninth lord, or the apex Trikona lord, and the 10th lord, or the highest Kendra lord and Karma sthana lord are placed in a powerful position in a birth chart gives Dharma Karma Athipathi Yoga which is considered the prime among all Yogas.
When the Dharma Karma Athipathis are well placed, during their Dhasa bukthi period the natives are bound to get enormous good benefits. This I can confidently say for sure.
How did these Pancha Maha Purusha Yoga and Dharma Karma Athipathi yoga form?
How the natives are benefitted out of it?
can be seen in the following chapters.
